Many of the same trusted MyChart services you access by computer are available on your phone to deliver optimized convenience for on-the-go families.
Whether you’re away on summer vacation or just out running errands, the MyChart app puts the tools in your hands to control your children’s healthcare anytime, anywhere.
Next time you log in to the app, take advantage of these features:
- Opt in to push notifications. Push notifications alert you about new information in your MyChart account, including new messages, updated test results, appointments scheduled and more.
Even if you don’t have access to your email, you will be notified of new information the minute it’s sent so you won’t miss important reminders.
When notifications appear on your device, tap the alert to open the MyChart app. After securely logging in, you can view the new information. Notifications will not contain any personal health information.
To turn on push notifications, a one-time alert will appear when you log into the mobile app. You can also turn them on in your phone’s settings.
- Request a Share Everywhere code. Whether you’re out of town, at an urgent care or Emergency Department outside of Akron Children’s with a sick or injured child, you can grant temporary access to your child’s medical information to any provider taking care of her.
In minutes, the provider will see a subset of the same information you see when logging into MyChart, including allergies, current medications, immunizations, lab results, visit records and current health issues. In addition, the provider can write a note back to your child’s care team about care he provided.
To generate a Share Everywhere code, click on Share My Record after logging into the mobile app and select Request a Share Code.
- Conveniently complete medical questionnaires prior to appointments. You can complete your child’s medical and family history forms directly in the MyChart app, instead of at your provider’s office.
This way, you will spend less time at your visit updating your child’s medical record and more time talking about your child’s current condition and concerns.
If required, medical questionnaires will appear in your MyChart account 5 days before a scheduled appointment. When you receive your child’s appointment reminder via a push notification, there will be a link to the questionnaire in the appointment details.
You also can locate medical questionnaires by clicking on Questionnaires after logging into the mobile app. They are available for all Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics offices and most specialty offices.
