1. It only took a moment for Ashlyn Bosley to stumble into a still-cooling fire pit, but the recovery has taken weeks of therapy, with 5 skin grafts along the way.

2. Baby Royce was determined to be in this world. He was conceived even after his mom Stephanie Stoudmire underwent tubal ligation — one of the most effective types of birth control. Then, he was born 11 weeks prematurely and spent 11 weeks in the NICU.

3. Longtime volunteer Rose Carlson celebrated her 102nd birthday among friends at Akron Children’s!

4. We are mourning the loss of another pioneering pediatrician. May you rest in peace, Dr. Robert Stone. Read more about his 55-year legacy that touched nearly every area of Akron Children’s.

5. The fierce love of a mother and her baby is like no other. We shared stories of 2 first-time moms who could use your support to get their sons Thomas and Maximus home from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

10. Paging “Doctor” Saige Carpenter! The 4-year-old loves to wear her kid-sized scrubs & lab coat when she has an appointment with Dr. Chandrakant Patel. He’ll perform her third heart surgery soon to correct pulmonary atresia.
