Jackson Milton High School senior John French broke his arm during a football game on Sept. 8. The Akron Children’s team got him started on the road to recovery with surgery the next morning.
I want to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at Akron Children’s Boardman and Akron Children’s Akron. My son suffered a football injury on the field Friday night. That resulted in a broken right arm.
He was sent via ambulance to Akron Children’s Boardman campus where they did an x-ray. He was diagnosed with ulna and radius break. The Boardman team stabilized the arm and then sent us to Akron Children’s in Akron via ambulance where the staff was waiting on us. They took him directly in and did their best effort to reset it. He then was admitted and surgery was performed by Dr. (William) Schrader the next morning.

John is the captain of the football team, excels academically and plays basketball, too.
The entire staff at Akron Children’s Boardman and Akron Children’s Akron was phenomenal with not only my son Johnathan, but with the entire family. These individuals went above and beyond. They are all exceptional at what they do!
I am extremely grateful and thankful to everyone. I have three children — Johnathan being my oldest. I am comforted to know in case of emergency and or need that we have such a wonderful hospital and staff extending exceptional care to our children. Thank you for being so great at what you do. Extending great compassion and care. You all are true heroes.

John plans to go to college and become a school guidance counselor.
