The wet weather did not dampen the spirits of more than 1,000 attendees who celebrated Akron Children’s upcoming 125th birthday at an anniversary gala on Sept. 12. The event, which was held on the Akron campus, highlighted our generous community’s support and was presented by the Women’s Board of Akron Children’s. Throughout the evening, guests celebrated in a giant tent featuring decorative elements from the hospital’s commemorative book, “125 Years from A to Z.” Guests were also treated to performances by patients including Akron Children’s therapeutic dance program, Dance Unlimited, and James Wilson.
“I’m humbled by the strong support we receive from everyone in our community, and I’d like to say thank you for the memories – past, present and future, “said Akron children’s president Bill Considine.
“We have a long, rich history at Akron Children’s, and I’m confident we will be around caring for children for a very long time to come.”
