Objectives (Educational Content) :

1. Describe causes of respiratory failure requiring ICU admission 2. Identify treatment options for respiratory failure, including non-invasive and invasive modalities. 3. Explain the role of mechanical circulatory support in the treatment of respiratory failure.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists and nurses.

Identified Gap:

Improved treatment methods for respiratory failure in children will enhance patient outcome.
