Grand Rounds: Improving Patient Experience in the Emergency Department

1. Describe relevance of patient experience in the healthcare setting. 2. Describe challenges encountered in measuring patient experience. 3. Describe best practices for improving patient experience.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists and nurses.

Identified Gap:

Improvement of the patient experience in the ER will result in improved clinical outcomes for the pediatric patient.
