Taking our Histories: Honoring Stories Through Narrative Medicine

Objectives (Educational Content) :

1. Define Narrative Medicine. 2. Identify three movements of Narrative Medicine. 3. Recognize the role of stories in healthcare and how they contribute to provider and patient well-being.

Target Audience:

General pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists and nurses

Identified Gap:

Recognize the contribution that patient histories have on health and wellbeing for the pediatric patient.

Method of Physician Participation in the Learning Process:

The learner will view the presentation, successfully complete a post-test and complete an activity evaluation.

Evaluation Methods:

All learners must successfully complete a post-test, as well as an activity evaluation, to claim CME credit.
