Hosted by the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute, our Research Day conference is a learning and networking event that highlights impactful research by Akron Children’s physicians, scientists and trainees. Research Day attendees will have opportunities throughout the conference to learn how Akron Children’s impacts patient care through science and discovery; meet others engaged in research locally, regionally and nationally; and interact with leading researchers in their field.

Research Day will feature:

  • Poster and platform abstract presentations throughout the day Akron Children’s researchers, trainees and our academic partners
  • Ideas and implementation session for trainees and clinicians
  • Guided student program
  • Panel discussions
  • Nationally recognized keynote speaker

Students that participate in research day can attend mentored poster walks, where they will tour our poster presentations with a mentor and learn about abstract preparation and presentation. They will also have an opportunity to experience a special "Medical Simulation  and Research" program to learn how simulation training and research can be leveraged to enhance patient safety and improve patient care. In addition, students will gain hands-on experience with airway models to practice bag-valve mask ventilation and torso models used for CPR training and new CPR feedback devices.
