Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat children with speech, language and swallowing/feeding disorders. At Akron Children's Hospital, our patients range in age from birth through adolescence.
If you have concerns about your child's ability to communicate effectively or eat safely, your physician may recommend an appointment with speech-language pathology.
We will complete a thorough evaluation to better understand your child's strengths and needs and then work with you to develop a plan for treatment. We collaborate with physicians and school providers to ensure your child receives the most appropriate intervention, whether in our department, at school, or at a facility closer to your home.
We look forward to working with your family and assisting your child in reaching his or her full potential.
