Severe dog bite ends well at Akron Children's ED

Tony one week after his accident. Tony one week after his accident.

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, I accompanied my daughter and her 2-year-old son to the ED of our local adult hospital. Tony had experienced a rather severe dog bite at his babysitter's house.

He had lacerations above his eyebrow and lip. I requested that he be transferred to Akron Children's.

From the moment we entered triage with a terrified child and a young mother who was beside herself, we experienced kindness, compassion and outstanding customer service.

The staff turned a most unpleasant situation into one that we could actually brag about. We have told everyone about the excellent care we ALL received.

It is so difficult to remember everyone's name during a stressful situation but certainly the nurse, Cindy, and physician, Dr. Sean Robinson, stand out, but so do the plastics' fellow, suture techs, ED techs, etc. I apologize for not recalling all the names.

Thank you all for taking such excellent care of the love of our lives!
