It’s been a month since our last post. Life goes by so quickly. Our little Peanut has been growing like a weed. We fall more and more in love with him every day. His smile will melt your heart.
Our conversations together will be a moment we cherish as he grows. I love listening to him babble to his toys as well. We’ve had a few appointments.
Dr. Lebeco, a dermatologist, checked out his birthmark on his tummy in August. Dr. Hull, Jordan's developmental pediatrician at Akron Children's, wanted us to have it checked due to its shape and size. It was explained that we’d keep an eye on it and if Jordan does have to have another surgery we’ll ask the surgeon to remove it while he is already under anesthesia.
We met with a team of therapists in Medina for Jordan’s evaluation. The speech therapist was encouraged at how social he is and encouraged us to keep talking and singing to him. The occupational and physical therapists asked that we use some activities to help Jordan’s back and head muscles become stronger. We also discussed stretching exercises for his legs and feet.
The appointment we’ve been waiting for is scheduled for this morning with Dr. Kerwyn Jones, the orthopedic doctor at Akron Children's. We are excited to finally discuss our questions and concerns and possibly have some answers about his legs and feet.
We are encouraged at the movement he has so far, but would like to see what are next steps are to improve his chances of walking. We ask that you pray for our visit.
We’ve experienced many firsts as a family – a rainbow, Indians game, daddy’s birthday, wedding, carriage ride, fair, colds and an earthquake. Spending time together for these precious moments is something I’ll cherish.
