My tiny trooper

My name is Christine and I would like to share my son's story with everyone.

Noah was born at 28 weeks gestation, weighing only 2 pounds, 5 ounces. Noah spent almost 2 months in the NICU at Akron Children's Hospital.

The nurses there were wonderful to him and us. They would take us through every step of his care and answer any question we had.

It was so comforting to have someone tell us exactly what was going on at all times.

Besides answering all of our medical questions, the nurses also taught us (being first-time parents) how to care for Noah and not to let his size discourage or intimidate us. They were with us through his first day there, to his first bottle, from getting his feeding tube taken out and sending us off on our journey home.

Noah is now 7 months old and weighs almost 15 pounds.

What I appreciated most of all was feeling safe leaving the hospital every day. They gave me peace of mind. Thank you so much for all you do!
