I am so grateful to everyone at Akron Children's Hospital's Heart Center and ICU.
It will be 3 years ago this March that Dr. Jacobstein detected the aorta coarctation of my then 12-year-old daughter, Abby. What a wonderful man! He explained everything so well.
Then off we went to Dr. Waight for a stint placement. When he saw how pinched our daughter's aorta was he wasted no time in getting Dr. Smith and Dr. Spector involved. I can't say enough good things about these heart surgeons.
They, with the help of Dr. Jacobstein and Dr. Waight, saved my daughter's life. Her coarctation was severe, but they were able to repair it with a vascular graft. The surgery went longer than expected as my daughter kept giving her surgeons "surprises." They handled each obstacle and kept us informed the whole time.
Since then, under Dr. Jacobstein's supervision, Abby has made a wonderful recovery. She is doing so well that now at 15, she is able to join the track team. She is currently in training.
God bless your team at Akron Children's. May you continue to bless others and save lives.
