More than 100 children and young adults crammed a summer's worth of fun into one week during the 2011 Diabetes Camp, conducted by the Akron Children's Hospital Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology with the help of nearly 100 volunteers.
Now in its fourth year, the camp featured activities such as horseback riding, swimming, mountain biking, canoeing, archery, crafts, cooking and much more.
Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other center staff were on hand to educate and support the campers with their blood sugar checks, insulin injections and other medical interventions.
The following video offers a glimpse of the memories in the making.
