I had the pleasure of escorting international wedding photographer Jasmine Star, her husband J.D., and Marketing Essentials President Skip Cohen through the hospital last week. Jasmine was in town to present at the Akron Photo Series, which is a fantastic program coordinated by Skip that brings in photographers from all over the country, to present on a variety of topics. A portion of each seminar is donated to Akron Children’s Hospital, and more than $5,000 has been given so far.
What started as a normal tour through the hospital ended in our new Expressive Therapy Center where everyone, including me, was amazed at the possibilities the center would offer our patients. While in the center, we ran into our art therapist, Barb Greenwood, who shared with us how the center will be used when it opens later this month.
Working at the hospital is always a great experience, but sometimes it takes someone like Jasmine to remind me of all the great things Akron Children’s does for its patients and families.
