Thanks to the generosity of a grateful mother, the walls at Akron Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center are coming alive with our patients’ best artwork.
The artwork was recently donated to the Heart Center by Tiffini Wright, whose son, Dominic, was born with a congenital heart defect and received treatment at the hospital.
The pieces are the result of a contest organized by Tiffini’s Change Bandit team, Team Dominic, for patients at the Heart Center.
“The original plan for the contest was to have three winners,” said Tiffini. “We received 14 great submissions so we layered all of the art pieces and everybody won.”
The first printing was auctioned and donated by Team Dominic to benefit the 2012 “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” radiothon. The second printing was presented to Dr. J.R. Bockoven and Kristen Breedlove, physician assistant, who were both by Dominic’s side during his stay in the hospital.
“We wanted to donate the second printing to the Heart Center, so kids could come there and see their work,” said Tiffini.
