What an amazing and busy couple of days it was for my family and I in Washington, DC. Our days were filled with interviews, sight-seeing, downtime, and speaking with state legislators.
On our second day in DC, we had radio interviews scheduled right after breakfast. I spoke with several radio stations from the Cleveland and Akron area and talked about the Children’s Hospital Association's Family Advocacy Day.
Reporters asked me questions on what Family Advocacy Day is about and why it’s so important. Later that day we were briefed on our mission and given some pointers for speaking with legislators.
During the afternoon we had some downtime where we spent our time visiting the Spy Museum. The museum was filled with all kinds of different gear that former spies had used.
When night came that day, all the other children's hospitals' advocates had a Congressional dinner where a band provided music for the kids, games, face painting, magicians, and of course, food.
