In this year’s TV campaign, we’ve turned the camera on our doctors, so you can see how intensely they care for every child – and family – they treat.
One of these doctors is John Clark. Dr. Clark is the director of Akron Children's Arrhythmia Center, where he helped develop a procedure to fix irregular heartbeats without using radiation.
Nothing makes Dr. Clark happier than helping children with abnormal heart rates walk out of the hospital without one.
Approved by the FDA in 2003, Akron Children’s was the first pediatric hospital in Ohio to offer cryoablation, a procedure that uses low temperatures to destroy abnormal electrical pathways within the heart. Cryoablation cures 90-95% of patients.
