Up to 80 percent of premature births can be prevented (VIDEO)

Each year, about half a million premature births occur in the United States, accounting for about 12 percent of all deliveries. Of these, 70 to 80 percent can potentially be prevented.

In this Children's Channel video, Dr. Stephen Crane,  chairman of maternal-fetal medicine at Akron Children's Hospital, discusses the complications related to these early arrivals, and what expectant parents can do to help ensure their pregnancy goes full term.
