Cervical cerclage and bed rest gave Noah a fighting chance

Noah in the NICU

Noah was in Akron Children's  NICU starting Dec. 7, 2012. He was 10 weeks premature and 3 lbs., 2 oz.

He was in the NICU for a month and a half. In that time Noah proved to be a fighter, but all children who are premature are.

Noah started out while he was in the womb having a hard time. I was 18 weeks and 6 cm dilated. I had to get my cervix sewn closed during pregnancy (a cervical cerclage) to save Noah and be on complete bed rest.

Even with that he had a 50/50 chance.

A week later I found out that the cerclage tore and I had to have a second cerclage. I was 19 weeks and had 2 cerclages to keep him inside, hopefully until my due date.

I lasted and they took me off full bed rest around 24 weeks and put me on moderate bed rest. Which takes me to 30 weeks and me waking up to my water breaking. This was the scariest thing. My mom rushed me to the hospital.

There I had a horrific ordeal, but got through it and the rest was the beginning.

Today, Noah is doing amazing and he's so smart.
