Kaydence had to wear a cast for 13 weeks while her hips healed after surgery.
On May 6, 2013, we found out that our 15-month-old daughter had hip dysplasia in both hips. On May 17, 2013, Dr. Patrick Riley performed surgery on Kaydence, hoping to lock both hips back in the socket.
Unfortunately, things were a little more challenging then expected. We were only successful with one side at that time.
She then had a second surgery on June 12, 2013, which was successful!
Kaydence was in a Hip Spica Cast for 13 weeks while her hips healed. She finally got her cast off Aug. 19, 2013.
It's been a year since her surgeries and I thank Dr. Riley every day. I say a prayer every night thanking God for watching over him during surgery and blessing those magic hands.
It brings so much joy to us to watch our now 2 year old walk, run, jump, and hop.
