Research/Scholarly Activity Project

Residents are required to perform a scholarly activity project during residency. Residents are paired with a faculty research advisor, with research and statistical support provided through Akron Children's Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute.

Results of the project are presented at Post Graduate Day, or research day.

Many of our residents have presented their research at national conferences and have published their work. The Department of Pediatrics provides a $1,000 stipend to residents who have their research accepted for presentation at national meetings. Below is a sample of the research published and presented by our residents, along with Akron Children's faculty members, since 2010. The residents’ names are underlined.
