(This procedure/test may also be known as: Methacholine Challenge Test, Histamine Challenge Test)

A bronchial challenge test is used to help diagnose asthma. The test uses medication called methacholine or histamine to determine airway reactivity. It involves the patient breathing the agent and doing a series of spirometry tests.
