Akron Children's physical therapists provide care in the hospital and to outpatients, schools and community programs. We are affiliated with more than 20 universities for teaching of students.
Physical therapists deal with issues of pain, strength, joint range of motion, endurance, and gross motor functioning. They provide evaluation and treatment under a doctor’s prescription.
Our physical therapists also adapt equipment, fit Jobst garments and suggest physical activities and exercise to help restore movement and function to muscles and joints.
Splinting and exercise are designed to prevent deformity and restore function. Treatment is also provided to increase self-esteem and manage emotions.
