Overview

Pediatric Surgery - Overview

The Akron Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Surgery cares for thousands of children each year. Our staff provides support through the entire surgical process from hospitalization through discharge and home care. Our team includes pediatric surgeons, general surgery residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurse clinicians.

We also use special equipment and techniques suited to the size of the patient to help assure successful outcomes to the surgery and anesthesia.

In addition, child life specialists give pre-surgery tours to prepare children (and parents) for what they can expect to see, hear, feel, taste or smell. To schedule a tour, call 330-543-8700 (Akron) or 330-746-8106 (Beeghly).
