Pediatric Radiology Curriculum

Our program's 12-month curriculum and clinical rotation schedule is directed by faculty with expertise in the selected topics.

Clinical Rotation Schedule

5 months
General Pediatric Roentgenography

2 months
Body Imaging
(Ultrasound,
CT & MRI)

2 months
Neuro-Imaging
1 month
Nuclear Medicine

1 month
Elective Research

Angio/interventional experience is provided on a case-by-case basis.

The second year rotation is similarly structured with one month to complete a clinical research project.

There are weekly general surgical, oncology, urology, and neuroradiology conferences.

Fellows are guided by an attending faculty member. By using the 6 competencies developed by ACGME, fellows experience patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice. Our lecture schedule and evaluation tools reflect these goals.

Residents from the Canton Integrated Radiology Residency Program, an affiliate of Northeast Ohio Medical University, spend a 4-month rotation in the department, and residents from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh rotate through Akron Children's radiology department.
