Only medical staff can determine the patient’s diagnosis and/or prognosis. After a member of the medical staff makes that determination, we may release one of the following one-word conditions to the public and media if the patient is asked for by name and the patient or patient’s parents/legal guardian has not “opted out” of providing the following information:
The term “stable” should not be used as a condition or in combination with other conditions (e.g. “critical but stable”).
