Overview

Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Overview

Our center for orthopedics and sports medicine has a team of doctors, surgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapists and athletic trainers to provide care for children, teens and young adults with injuries and disorders of the bones, joints, muscles and spine.

Our center features a health club-like atmosphere and includes:

  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation center with treadmills, elliptical and step machines, stationary bikes, free weights and weight machines
     
  • Laboratory and casting services
     
  • Sports medicine evaluations and treatment for patients of all ages
     
  • Sophisticated tests such as:
    • VO2 Max, which evaluates cardiorespiratory endurance
    • Lactate (anaerobic) threshold testing, which helps young athletes achieve their goals by training more effectively and reducing injuries
    • ImPACT, a computerized test that measures memory, processing speed and reaction time (cognitive function) following head injuries or concussions
    • Motion analysis for upper and lower extremity motion injuries and concerns
    • Gait analysis to help runners avoid injuries while improving their performance
       
  • Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc., which manufactures and fits patients for braces, orthotics, prostheses, and safety and exercise equipment
