Akron Children’s Hospital nurses are committed to providing quality nursing care, using the latest techniques, technology and equipment, while also creating a warm, nurturing environment for children and their families.
Nurses at Akron Children's function as teachers and problem-solvers, helping families learn more about their child's medical condition and how to manage it. Our efforts are complemented by the work of child life specialists and social workers.
We work as a team to help families identify solutions, as well as to direct families to community services and resources that may be helpful.
We also provide specialized home care for children with special medical needs.
In 2007, Akron Children's received the highest honor for nursing excellence - Magnet Recognition Status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). In 2012, Akron Children's received re-designation as a Magnet Hospital. The Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes hospitals with a commitment to nursing excellence and outstanding performance by the entire organization.
We rely on your generosity to provide quality medical care to every child who needs us.
