Akron Children's clinical instructor program encourages partnerships between affiliated nursing schools and the hospital, easing the difficulty of finding qualified instructors and enhancing clinical placement slots for students. Affiliated nursing programs can contract with the hospital for a pediatric instructor who is familiar with Akron Children's as a clinical training site.
Our goal is to provide sound clinical instruction for your students. Our aim is to help you reach your goal.
By using Akron Children's clinical instructor program, you can be assured the instructor is familiar with the organization, procedures and shift routines. Our clinical instructor works with nursing schools to give students a valuable learning experience in their pediatric rotation.
For your convenience we have also added our HIPAA Policy and Computer Acceptable Use Policy so students may review them before coming to the hospital. The HIPAA test is also available. Students must turn in this test on their first clinical day.
The Computer Security Agreement form for preceptor students is also available for preceptor students to download and fill out after reviewing our policy. Students may review the policy but will fill out the form with their instructor their first day here so their badge numbers can be included. All forms should be turned in the first clinical day.
All faculty must complete an orientation for the hospital and the unit on which they will be supervising students. Thank you for your assistance in making sure all paperwork and processes are complete If you need to schedule an orientation, or have any questions or concerns, contact Jennifer Dirker at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330-543-3088.
