Area retailers raising money for Akron Children’s Hospital throughout April


Area locations of national retailers kicked off Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals promotions this month, each raising funds for Akron Children’s Hospital.

Participating retailers include:

Ace Hardware – Participating locations in the Akron area will ask customers to round-up their change to the nearest dollar throughout the month of April. This is the second year of the round-up campaign with Akron area Ace Hardware stores, last year the campaign raised close to $180,000 for Akron Children’s.

Chico’s and White House Black Market – Locations in Hudson and at Belden Village Mall will sell “Miracle Balloons” in store for $1 each through May 31.

Circle K – Close to 150 area locations will sell “Miracle Balloons” and ask customers to round-up their change from April 7-30, with all donations going to Akron Children’s. Last year, local Circle K stores raised $150,000 for the hospital.

Rite Aid – Forty-five locations in the Akron area will sell “Miracle Balloons” in-store through May 6, with all sales going to the local hospital. Since 1994, Rite Aid has raised $750,356 for Akron Children’s and has raised nearly $81 million nationally for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Akron Children's is a founding member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and improving lives of children by raising funds for hospitals across the country.
