Miracle Treat Day raises money for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley

On Thursday Aug. 14, Dairy Queen will partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) for the 30th year to help raise money for local children’s hospitals including Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

More than 4,000 Dairy Queen locations throughout the United States will once again invite guests to enjoy a Blizzard from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Miracle Treat Day.  For every Blizzard Treat purchased at participating stores in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Mercer counties, DQ will donate $1 or more to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Throughout the course of the 30-year partnership between Dairy Queen and CMN, more than $100 million has been raised for children’s hospitals across North America. The majority of the funds raised each year come from this one-day event.  In 2013, Miracle Treat Day generated $40,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital at locations in Akron and the Mahoning Valley.

“Our franchisees are involved with CMN Hospitals year round. Miracle Treat Day is a fantastic time for all of us to come together and make a difference in the lives of children in our local communities,” says John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ).”
