Miracle Maker Change Bandits needed for Radiothon

08-11-2014

Recruitment is now underway for Miracle Maker Change Bandits to assist with pre-event fundraising activities for the 6th annual Miracles & Promises Radiothon to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The Radiothon will take place Sept. 17 – 19 and will be broadcast live on Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN from the hospital’s Beeghly campus in Boardman.

The Miracle Maker Change Bandit program is a fun and easy way for everyone, from individuals, families, businesses, schools and civic and community organizations to help raise funds prior to the Radiothon. Change Bandits can create their own fundraising activities in addition to wrangling donations of spare change from co-workers, friends and family.

All dollars raised are presented on air and Change Bandits are recognized during the Radiothon.

“A successful Change Bandit campaign is vital to the success of the Radiothon,” said JoAnn Stock, Akron Children’s director of development.  “Through the support of the Change Bandit Campaign and the Miracles & Promises Radiothon, donors can help us continue to provide quality care close to home for children and families in the Mahoning Valley.”

The Radiothon is the hospital’s largest fundraising event of the year, and provides the community with the opportunity to hear stories about programs, physicians, and local families who have been helped by Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

During its first five years, the Radiothon has raised $750,000 to support Mahoning Valley programs and services.  This year, the hospital hopes to top $1 million in total dollars raised for the children of the Mahoning Valley.
