Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley presents American Girl Fashion Show®

Events scheduled for March 8 and March 9 at Antone’s Banquet Center

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley invites families to experience the American Girl Fashion Show on Saturday, March 8 or Sunday, March 9 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market Street in Boardman.

Performances are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.  This fun, engaging program showcases historical and contemporary fashions for girls and their dolls.  Proceeds will benefit local programs and services of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

More than 170 local models will present the fashions, while lively commentary, music and decorations will create a memorable experience for girls and their families.  Audiences will delight in historical clothing, from daywear to sleepwear to special-occasion clothing that resembles what the popular American Girl characters Kaya, Josefina, Addy, Rebecca, Kit, Molly, and Julie might have worn.  Contemporary “My American Girl” outfits for older girls and sweet Bitty Baby fashions for little ones complete the program.

The event also includes refreshments featuring a tea party luncheon theme, party favors, raffles and door prizes.  Tickets are $30 per person and can be ordered by visiting or by calling 330-746-8712.  Sponsorship opportunities and program book ads are also available.

A Grand Raffle, hosted by The Kids’ Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, will be conducted.  Tickets are $5 each and can be obtained from any Kids’ Crew member or by calling 330-746-8712.  Prize packages include the Isabelle “Girl of the Year” Doll Starter Collection (value $251), including the Isabelle doll, book, accessories, dance case, leotard, dance skirt, legwarmer set, wrap sweater, kitten, doll stand and doll brush, a Caroline Package (value $260) including Caroline doll with book, Caroline’s bed and bedding, nightgown and sparkly hair pick, and a Kaya Package (value $237) which includes Kaya doll with book, Kaya’s mare, Steps High, Kaya’s saddle, doll stand and doll brush.  The drawing will take place at the conclusion of the Sunday, 3 p.m. show.  Winner need not be present to win.
