51st annual Harness Race Rally supports Akron Children's Regional Infant Hearing Program


The Friends of Akron Children’s Hospital, a dedicated fundraising group for the hospital, is hosting the 51st annual Harness Race Rally on Friday, Aug. 10 at Northfield Park.

Tickets are being sold at various locations throughout northeast Ohio and will be sold through the night of the race. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winners will be drawn during the race. This year’s prizes are:

Grand prize: 2012 Chrysler 200 donated by Brunswick Automart
2nd prize: Diamond ring donated by Medina Gem Company
3rd prize: Diamond Pendant donated by Sterling Jewelers Inc.
4th prize: Helicopter ride for two on Air Bear®, Akron Children’s Hospital’s pediatric, transport helicopter
5th prize: Overnight package donated by Sheraton Suites, Cuyahoga Falls
6th prize: TV donated by Akron Rubber Development Laboratory
7th prize: Apple® iPad 2 donated by A. Schulman Inc.

Proceeds raised from this year’s Harness Race Rally will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital’s Regional Infant Hearing Program, a grant-funded program of the Ohio Department of Health that provides family-centered interventions for children ages birth to three with hearing loss.

Since 1962, the Friends have raised more than $3 million for Akron Children’s Hospital through the Harness Race Rally event.
