Akron Children’s Hospital is pleased to offer home care services for children in need of specialized treatment in the Mahoning Valley.
Children’s Home Care Group provides in-home medical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week for children facing an extended hospital stay. Registered nurses, medical social workers and pharmacists provide services including palliative care, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, pain management, as well as home medical equipment.
As an additional benefit to families, home care also can reduce the costs of treatment by as much as 80 percent when compared to in-hospital treatments.
“Our goal is to ease the financial and travel burdens of our families,” said Sally Hartline, director of Akron Children’s Hospital’s Home Care Group. “We want to make it possible for each child to get the high-quality treatment they need, while living their life as normally as possible.”
Children’s Home Care Group is certified by Medicare and Medicaid, and accredited by The Joint Commission. For more information and a complete list of services, call 330-543-5000.
