The Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation recently named Cheryl Williams director of corporate partnerships. Previously, she served as the coordinator for corporate and foundation relations.
Prior to working at Akron Children’s, Williams was the development manager at OneCommunity from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, she served in variety of positions for nearly three decades at the Diocese of Ohio before ending as the director of stewardship and development from 2003 to 2008.
Her responsibilities include management of corporate giving and engagement strategies as well as the development of corporate fundraising and partnership strategies.
“We are enhancing the hospital’s mechanisms for partnering with businesses, whether this includes corporate grants, employee volunteer and giving campaigns, cause-related marketing strategies, or direct giving,” Williams said.
Williams earned her Bachelor of Science in management from Indiana Wesleyan University, along with a certificate in human services. Currently, she is completing her Master in Public Administration from The University of Akron, and is a certified fundraising executive.
