Akron Children’s welcomes new cardiologist

Dr. Ira Taub


Ira Taub, MD, joins Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric cardiologist.

Dr. Taub has joined the medical staff of Akron Children’s Heart Center, where he diagnoses and treats infants, children, teens and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. His special interests include risk assessment and prevention of sudden cardiac death, cardiovascular issues in chronic pediatric diseases and the role of genetics in congenital heart disease.

Dr. Taub recently completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.

Akron Children’s Heart Center offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular services from before birth through adulthood for patients with congenital heart disease and pediatric arrhythmia disorders. The center’s team of pediatric cardiologists and heart surgeons manage all aspects of care – from advanced diagnostics to complex surgical procedures.

Dr. Taub sees patients at three Akron Children’s locations in Beachwood (216-896-0351), at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland (216-778-2583) and at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord (216-896-0351).
