Michael Trainer has been named chief financial officer and treasurer of Akron Children’s Hospital.
Trainer has served as Akron Children’s interim CFO for the past five months. He joined the hospital system in 2008 as a vice president, responsible for financial reporting, revenue cycle, supply chain, managed care contracting, budgeting, third party cost reporting, and decision support.
Prior to joining Akron Children’s, Trainer was vice president of regional services and strategic initiatives at the Cleveland Clinic. He has also held financial positions with Summa Health System and Deaconess Hospital of Cleveland. He is a certified public accountant.
"Mike has served as our interim CFO with distinction and brings a wealth of expertise and experience to his role, having more than 30 years of service in the health care industry," said William Considine, president and chief executive officer of Akron Children’s.
Trainer is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College.
