When: Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014

Where: Eat ‘n Park, Austintown

5451 Mahoning Avenue

What: Executives from Eat ‘n Park’s corporate office, will present a check for $15,795 to representatives from Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The donation represents the total raised during the annual Caring for Kids Campaign, a five-week fundraising effort, which was held during this past holiday season at all Mahoning Valley area Eat ‘n Park restaurants, including the Austintown, Boardman and Warren locations.  Fundraising events varied by location and included “Tips for Tots” nights, raffles, prizes, games and more.  Over the past five years, more than $65,000 has been raised for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley through the Eat ‘n Park Caring for Kids Campaign.

More info: Eat’n Park (www.eatnpark.com) team members and guests have raised a total of $403,256 for children’s hospitals and charities across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia during the company’s 35th annual Caring for Kids Campaign. This brings the campaign total to more than $8.5 million raised since its inception in 1979.

All money collected from the Caring for Kids Campaign stays in the communities where it was donated, making it a truly local and community-driven fundraiser. This year, $15,795 will be contributed locally to Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley and $6,800 will be contributed locally to Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron.

“The most important aspect of the campaign is that so many families will now be receiving the help that they need,” says Trina DeMarco, Director of Corporate Giving and Community Partnerships, Eat’n Park Hospitality Group. “We are thrilled with how much we will be able to give back to the community this year, thanks to the generosity of Eat’n Park’s guests, team members, and partners.”

For the fourth consecutive year, the Neighborhood Ford Store has partnered with Eat’n Park to contribute a brand new Ford to be raffled with the proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets donated to the campaign. This year, more than $113,000 was generated by the raffle tickets and George Seckar, a lucky Eat’n Park guest from Lower Burrell, Pa., won a 2014 Ford Fusion SE FWD. Mr. Seckar’s winning ticket was drawn from more than 56,000 tickets that were purchased to benefit the campaign.

“The Neighborhood Ford Store is such an impactful and integral part of the campaign’s success,” says DeMarco. “We are so appreciative of their support and our strong partnership with them.” The Neighborhood Ford Store is comprised of 81 Ford dealers in southwest Pennsylvania, southeast Ohio, and the panhandles of Maryland and West Virginia.

In addition to Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley and Children’s Medical Center of Akron, 12 other hospitals across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia benefit from the initiative, including Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Columbus Children’s Hospital Foundation, DuBois Regional Medical Center, the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Geisinger Health System, Indiana Regional Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, St. Vincent Health System, University of Virginia Children’s Hospital, and West Virginia University Children’s Hospital.
