On July 1, the Pediatrics Department at North Canton Medical Foundation will become part of Akron Children’s network of pediatric primary care offices.
The affiliation creates the first pediatric primary care office for Akron Children’s in Stark County, according to Ben Teske, director of primary care services at Children’s, which is called Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics (ACHP).
“We are committed to ensuring that children receive the finest care close to their homes – from preventive checkups to treatment for chronic health problems,” he said. “Our resources, services and network of 21 primary care locations throughout northeast Ohio will compliment the great care that NCMF providers have been offering children of Stark County for more than 40 years.”
With ongoing changes in the delivery of health care, the opportunity to have ACHP maintain excellent pediatric services at the NCMF campus is a welcome benefit for our community, commented Dr. John Humphrey, foundation executive at NCMF.
“This arrangement will maintain our current staff, office hours and onsite lab and radiology services,” he said.
The practice will be renamed: Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics North Canton.
It will remain at its current location on the North Canton Medical Foundation campus at 6046 Whipple Ave. NW, Building B, in North Canton.
Office staff and all four medical providers will become Akron Children’s employees. They are:
