19th annual Forest Heritage Festival to be held Aug. 9

AKRON, Ohio (July 8, 2014) -- The 19th annual Forest Heritage Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. The event is free to the public and benefits Akron Children’s Hospital.

The event originated in 1996 when associates from the New Philadelphia Walmart and members of the East Central Ohio Loggers Chapter united to hold the first Forest Heritage Festival in the Walmart parking lot. To date, the festival has raised more than $1 million for Akron Children’s.
