The Miracles and Promises Radiothon is broadcast live every year during one weekend in September on 570 WKBN and Mix 98.9 from the main lobby of Building D on Akron Children's Beeghly Campus in Boardman. Not only does the radiothon help raise funds for the hospital, it promotes awareness of the services offered to our communities in the Mahoning Valley.
All dollars raised stay in the community to benefit local children helped by Mahoning Valley programs and services. In 2013, the radiothon raised $193,971, which brought the 5-year total to more than $733,000.
Another way of supporting the Miracles & Promises Radiothon is by signing up to be a Miracle Maker Change Bandit. The Miracle Maker Change Bandit program is a fun and easy way for everyone, from individuals, families, businesses, schools, and civic and community organizations to help raise funds prior to the radiothon.
Change Bandits can create their own fundraising activities in addition to wrangling donations of spare change from co-workers, friends and family. A kit containing a fundraising guide and all the materials necessary to conduct a successful Change Bandit campaign is delivered to all participants.
All dollars raised are presented and Change Bandits are recognized during the Miracles and Promises Radiothon.
