I enthusiastically share the accomplishments of our nursing staff. In collaboration with the entire Akron Children’s Hospital healthcare team, we help ensure that seamless, affordable, quality care is accessible to all. We are dedicated to patient- and family-centered care and continuously strive to practice with the highest professional nursing standards, which has led to our nationally recognized, quality patient outcomes.
In 2012, Akron Children’s achieved redesignation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program® – reflecting our commitment to nursing excellence. We are one of only 34 pediatric hospitals nationwide and one of 21 hospitals in Ohio to receive Magnet recognition. The 391 Magnet-designated organizations represent less than 7 percent of all U.S. healthcare organizations.
We are proud to be counted among the best of the best and are leading the way as northeast Ohio’s largest pediatric healthcare provider.
Magnet redesignation – which recognizes our quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice – was the shining star on top of a fantastic list of nursing accomplishments! I’m energized and inspired by our nurses’ creativity and innovation.
We continually advance the hospital’s mission and promise to care for each family as we would our own by providing exceptional care, promoting good health, preventing disease and advocating passionately for each child. Each day nurses fulfill our promise – to work tirelessly so that all children can reach their full potential.
