The Mary A. Hower Medical Library at Akron Children's Hospital supports and enhances patient care, education, research and decision-making through the provision of knowledge-based information services for the hospital's medical and nursing staffs, employees, and medical students.
Faculty and students of OhioLink institutions may also visit the library. However, they should bring their current ID from their institution and stop at one of the hospital's information desks for a visitor's badge. Services to the public are available through the Family Resource Center.
Our medical library has an extensive collection of pediatric materials in various formats. We also provide computer stations, a desktop scanner, audiovisual equipment, and photocopiers.
Our medical library is affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and is a member of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. It is also a member of OhioLINK, a library and information network with databases, electronic books and journals.
We rely on your generosity to provide quality medical care to every child who needs us.
