Cause for rejection:
Serum with excessive hemolysis or lipemia may not be suitable for testing.
Antigen detection by latex agglutination
Urine specimens may exhibit misleading results in neonates and infants and therefore are not acceptable for analysis. Transient excretion of the Group B strep antigen has been noted in uninfected infants colonized in the gastrointestinal tract.
