Akron Children’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit provides multidisciplinary, inpatient rehabilitative and medical care for children and teens recovering from serious illness or injury.
The unit also provides complete treatment, from intensive care through transition to community-based services, to meet the complex medical, physical and functional needs of children with disabilities.
Children with rehabilitation needs who must remain in the hospital after their acute healthcare needs have been met will be transferred to this five-bed unit.
Upon discharge, they will continue to receive intensive therapy through our Day Rehabilitation Program before transitioning to outpatient rehab.
