Annual camp for children and teens ages 7-15 affected by type 1 diabetes and under the care of the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Akron Children's Hospital
Staff from the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology interacts with campers and oversees routine blood sugar monitoring and the administration of insulin and other medications.
Campers may be the only person at school with diabetes, and camp offers them the opportunity to compare similar feelings and emotions, and to discover that diabetes won't limit them from doing things.
Sessions are held in late June (ages 7-11), and early July (ages 12-15)
