Frequently Asked Questions about Epic

Where can I get support about software and hardware problems related to Epic?

Call DOCIT, our helpline for providers, at 330-543-6248.

What devices are available for charting on the inpatient units?

The number and type of devices vary depending on the needs of the unit. Options may include desktops, wall-mounted laptops, and work stations on wheels (WOWs).

Will I have remote access to Epic from home or my office?

All credentialed medical staff members who currently have remote access to Clinacc have remote access to Epic after completing the appropriate training session. For information about training, contact Christine Corbett at 330-543-8498 or ccorbett@chmca.org.

Can I still access Epic if I don't have inpatient privileges?

Read Only access is available to medical staff members who don't admit to the hospital (ambulatory privileges only), have membership without privileges, or need access to patient data but do not need to enter information or manipulate the patient chart in any way other than to pull data.

If I don't see patients at Akron Children's very often, what training is required?

If you have less than 5 encounters/entries into Epic in a rolling 12-month period, we will provide personal assistance when you need to access Epic.

If you have other questions or concerns, call DOCIT, our helpline for providers, at 330-543-6248.
