Akron Children's has a Doggie Brigade™ program at its Akron campus and Beeghly campus in Boardman. We accept applications for new teams, and screenings are done once a year in the spring. All dogs must pass a thorough veterinary exam and behavioral screening process to be accepted into the program.
Once accepted into the Brigade, the dogs and their owners earn volunteer credit for their weekly or biweekly visits to the hospital. Akron Children's has offered a Doggie Brigade program since 1992. Doggie Brigade members are registered by the Pet Partners Program.
